Over the year we have three inter-school sports carnivals:
- Cross Country (Last week of Term 1)
- Athletics (Last week of Term 2)
- Swimming (Last week of Term 4)
For these carnivals students are divided into four houses; Goannas (Red), Kookaburras (Blue), Wombats (Yellow) and Magpies (Black and White).
All of these carnivals highlight school and house spirit and encourage students to participate actively.
At the end of each carnival two trophies are awarded to the houses; a Championship Trophy for the house who earns the most points from competition, and a House Spirit Trophy which is awarded to the house that participates actively, shows sportsmanship and house spirit.
Cross Country carnival consists of 3km, 4km and 6km races. Throughout the day there are also competitions run by the house captains in order to gain more House Spirit points.
Athletics carnival consists of a range of track and field events, along with some mass participation, novelty events as such the “commando challenge”, tug-of-war, relays and fashion parade.
The swimming carnival includes 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke and a junior/senior freestyle relay race, along with a range of mass participation events for students such as underwater volleyball pass, golf-ball challenge and mass participation swims.
