Student leadership plays an important part in our school community at BSSC. The leadership program complements the schools academic and sporting programs to help equip students for the ever-changing world that we live in. It aims to develop students potential for life success, while develpoping personal and social competancies and leardeship skills.

Student Council
Every year all interested students who wish to be a part of the leadership group within our college, apply for positions as College Captain and Vice Captains and within the Student Council.
The student council are representatives of all students within the college and are led by the student council president. Numerous activities including college dances, free dress days, inter - house sporting events, fundraising for a variety of charities and many others are organised by our student council.

Week 1 (30th September 2024) Year 11 Applications due to the relevant Dean
7th October Speeches to Year 10 and 11 during BDP
Week 2 (8th October) College Captain applicants deliver brief speeches at Special Staff Meeting
Week 3 (14th October 2024) Interviews with Principal and Senior School Dean
Week 4 (21st October 2024) All other applications due (25th October 2024) College Captains, Vice-captains and Student Council President are announced at Awards Night
Week 5 House Captains are announced at Sports Awards
Week 9 (25th to 29th Nov) Leadership Camp for 2025 Year 12 Leaders with Year 12 Coordinator and Senior Student Council Teacher Mentor
Weeks 8-10 Leadership Activities can be organised with Year 7-10 applicants
