High school students will need to spend a regular time each evening doing homework to consolidate and revise the work they have done in class that day, if they wish to complete their course of study successfully.
There are two kinds of homework that your child should be completing. Assigned homework and unassigned homework.
This involves the teacher setting a task and checking it is completed. This type of homework will usually be a printed sheet or questions chosen from the textbook.
This involves self-directed study that can include a range of activities like:
Preparation for exams.
Students develop responsibility for their own learning. Homework in Years 7, 8, and 9 could be up to, but generally not more than, five hours per week.
