​​​​Why do I need to enroll my childs device?

Device enrolment provides your childs device with a configuration profile and network certificate - basically and ID badge for our systems to recognise and trust your childs device. Allowing student devices to securely (and reliably) connect to our school network, allowing access to printers, Microsoft security features, and certain applications. 

If students bypass this important setup, they will encounter unstable connection, limited or no access to Wi-Fi, and frequent issues connecting to class resources/microsoft office. They also have a higher potential of locking themselves out of their school account. 


Why do I need to enrol my childs device at home?

Our network has limitations on downloads during school hours. Where enrolling at home can take up to 20 to 30 minutes. Enrolling a BYOx device at school can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours - especially if multiple students attempt the process at once.

Due to the above, our I.T staff are only able to assist a handful of students at a time resulting in large queues and hours of valuable class time missed. 

Additionally, with the latest government-imposed restrictions around child social media accounts, many students are unable to enrol their device without triggering 2-factor authentication verification measures linked to a parent or guardian account.​
