Bundamba State Secondary College is a diverse, culturally rich and aspirational community where everyone has the opportunity to experience success, a sense of belonging and personal growth. This is achieved by building resilience, integrity, excellence in teaching and learning and self-worth. Our values are PRIDE, RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY and EMPOWERMENT.
Bundamba State Secondary College is a secondary college situated in Bundamba, Ipswich and located in the western education corridor of the Brisbane Metropolitan region. In 2024 Bundamba State Secondary College has an enrolment of approximately 891 students. A strength of our college is the inclusive and multi-cultural nature of our school, where we learn and grow in a culturally harmonious environment. We have a clear focus on learning and successful pathways beyond school to further learning, training or employment.
The curriculum offers a planned course of study from Years 7 - 12. Our school delivers the Australian Curriculum to Years 7 - 10, appropriately differentiated to each student's needs. The Senior School curriculum is a broad range of QCE General and Applied subjects, as well as a variety of VET courses to suit our diverse student needs. As a partner school in the WesTec Trade Training Centre, our students access industry standard training, courses and school-based apprenticeships. Located geographically close to TAFE South West, our students can combine school with vocational training through the TAFE in schools' program.
A range of extracurricular activities is also offered. These opportunities are well supported through quality facilities including a Performing Arts and Media Complex, a Leadership Training Centre, with its world class climbing and high ropes courses, and the addition of a Flexible Learning Space in 2020. Learning, Engagement and Wellbeing are our strategic drivers and they are well supported by an experienced Leadership Team, teaching staff who are committed to professional development and specialist support staff including a Guidance Officer, School Based Youth Health Nurse, Youth Support Co-ordinator, Chaplain, Community Education Counsellor (ATSI Learners), Polynesian Liaison Officer (Pacifica Learners).
Our college has developed key partnerships with a number of organisations including ICYS (Ipswich Community Youth Support Services), Beyond the Broncos, ABCN (Australian Business and Community Network), UPP (Unleashing Personal Potential), WesTec Trade Training Centre and TAFE South West.
