Senior school

Year 10

 
In year 10, students study all core subjects and two electives from the list below.

Year 11
 
Year 11 students from 2019 will be able to select from three different types of subjects.
 
• General Subjects
• Applied and Applied (Essential) Subjects
• Vocational Education and Training (VET) Subjects
 
General Subjects contribute towards an Australian Tertiary Entrance Rank (ATAR) for tertiary entrance as well as to the Queensland Certificate of Education.  Applied, Applied (Essential) and VET Subjects contribute to the Queensland Certificate of Education and may contribute towards an ATAR. Students wishing to be eligible for an ATAR must select a minimum of 4 General subjects, a combination of their five best subjects contribute to the ATAR calculation. A maximum of one Applied, Applied (Essential) or VET subject may contribute to this calculation for students selecting a 4+1 ATAR model. In years 11 and 12 students study six subjects depending upon their individual Student Education and Learning Plan (SET P). Please see the below resources for more detailed information.

Year 12

 
In years 11 and 12 there are three different types of subjects which can be studied.
 
• Authority Subjects
• Authority Registered Subjects
• Vocational Education and Training (VET) Subjects
 
Authority Subjects contribute towards an Overall Position (OP) for tertiary entrance as well as to the Queensland Certificate of Education.  Authority Registered and VET Subjects contribute to the Queensland Certificate of Education but do not contribute towards an OP. In years 11 and 12 students study six subjects depending upon their individual Student Education and Learning Plan (SET P).
